The Center for Teacher Preparation offers support for those pursuing preliminary requirements to teach in California. Our programs and services provide course requirements for obtaining a long-term substitute permit, job-embedded training to become a special education teacher, test preparation courses for meeting California credential requirements, and coursework and support for clearing Level I special education credentials.

Candidates enrolled in any Center for Teacher Preparation intern program may be eligible for a one-time Golden State Teacher Grantwhich can potentially fund up to $20,000 of the cost to participate; details can be found on the Golden State Teacher Grant Program updates page. Our team will gladly assist candidates in applying for this grant once they are enrolled.
