FINAL SCHOOL CLEANUP SET AT JULIUS CORSINI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Last School Cleanup Set for Desert Hot Springs

The Desert Hot Springs Beautification Committee will now focus on cleaning up and helping single-family homeowners and small business in the city with grant monies.

DESERT HOT SPRINGS —The Desert Hot Springs Beautification Committee will hold its last school cleanup on Saturday, Jan. 27 starting at 8 a.m. at the Julius Corsini Elementary School. Volunteers, parents, students and teacher will converge at the school to pick up trash and debris left from the recent storms and winds.

DHS Mayor Scott Matas will be on hand to say a few words to the students and parents about the necessity of keeping our city clean. Liz Hernandez from Palm Springs Disposal/Desert Valley Disposal has given each school in the cleanup campaign educational speeches to the students at assemblies and breakfasts prior to each school cleanup in 2022 and 2023.

“After this event, we will have cleaned up every school in Desert Hot Springs,” said DHS Beautification Committee Co-Chair the Rev. Jackie Devereaux. “Mayor Matas has allowed us to us to utilize city resources to bring educational seminars to students, and to get parents involved in these efforts. We even had young Marine from 29 Palms military base helping in our mission,” Devereaux said.
