Gay Desert Hot Springs

Posted on September 12, 2022 would like to present to you Jeff Bowman who is running for the Desert Water Agency Board – Division 3.

Jeff and his wife have lived in Desert Hot Springs since 2003. He has served us on the Mission Springs Water District Board for 9 years and his hands-on experience with water issues has convinced us that he is the best candidate to serve us on the Desert Water Agency Board in Palm Springs.

Prior to moving to Desert Hot Springs in 2003, Jeff had a varied career with several common threads – people, technology, and customer focus.

He is a GEEK!  He spent 15 years in the computer field with senior positions at Toshiba America Computer Systems Division. First he was the Director of Product Support-marketing which was responsible for nationwide customer support. His department received over 66,000 customer contacts per month and had a fiscal responsibility for $4,600,000+ annual budget. He then held the title of Senior Group Manager in Toshiba America’s Engineering Division. He oversaw three major division departments: Computer network (IT) support and development; Accessories design and manufacture; and 3rd Party vendor relations.

Jeff and his wife Judy became interested in massage following Judy’s battle with breast cancer in 1992, resulting in becoming Licensed Massage Therapists.

In 2003 Jeff and Judy decided to create Living Waters Spa – A European Style Spa in Desert Hot Springs. They purchased a run-down small hotel named Kismet Lodge and poured their resources and people skills into developing Living Waters Spa.  It was a day and stay spa where people could get in touch with life like they do at the spas in Europe.  It was featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Ellen Degeneres / and others. Their Spa was listed as one of the Top 25 Small Hotels in the US according to for 4 years in a row and garnered both national and international acclaim. They retired from the spa in 2019 and continue to live in DHS.

He is also deeply committed to Desert Hot Springs!  Since moving to DHS in 2003 Jeff has given 1,000s of volunteer hours to our community:

– Current President of the Cabot’s Museum in Desert Hot Springs

– Former Director for Mission Springs Water District (9 yrs)

– Former Commissioner / Chair of the DHS Public Safety Commission (11 yrs)

– Former President of the DHS Hotelier Association

– Member and past President DHS Historical Society

– Commissioner on the PS Airport Commission (4 yrs)

– Member of the Business Council for the – Greater Palm Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau (5 yrs).

BOWMAN knows the history and details of our critical water needs having had 9 years experience on the MSWD water board. (watch his presentation on the “Hidden Waters of Desert Hot Springs“)

BOWMAN understands the importance and significance of water in Desert Hot Springs having 16 years hotel ownership. (watch his presentation “The Spas of Desert Hot Springs.”)

BOWMAN cares having volunteered on commissions and committees for almost 20 years.

Jeff has been endorsed by Mayor Scott Matas of Desert Hot Springs along with Mayor Pro Tem Gary Gardner and Councilwoman Jan Pye.

We need Jeff Bowman on the Desert Water Agency.   His expertise in our water, customer service, commitment to DHS, and financial accountability will guarantee WE will be represented at the Desert Water Agency in Palm Springs. And, significantly, for the first time ever, the residents of Desert Hot Springs will have at least 2 seats on the Desert Water Authority’s board (Divisions 2 & 3). That’s why it’s so important that we elect a qualified person like Jeff Bowman.
