Candidate Statement

Desert Hot Springs residents count on having an adequate supply of clean, safe
water in order to enjoy a great quality of life. Directors on the Desert Water
Agency Board have a tremendous responsibility to you, its customers. I
recognize that.

It’s no secret California is in a severe drought. In these times, water
agencies tend to raise rates, taking money from your pockets. But draining your
pockets is not the solution to cure this drought. I will fight against that.

However, the issues of water depletion and conservation must be
addressed. We must conserve. This can best be done in partnership with
programs like Household Conservation Assistance.

My forty years of private industry experience has given me the expertise
needed to recognize and solve problems. Establishing realistic goals, identifying
and taking the actions needed have always achieved success. My primary goal
is to always serve you, the Desert Water Agency’s customers.

I am running for this position to ensure those of you relying on this agency
will have the clean, safe water you need at a reasonable rate. I will be working
for you. Vote D.G. Cook for Director District 3 of the Desert Water Agency.
